I hope this note finds everyone getting ready for a well-deserved Christmas break. December had us in Houston and back to Asia for a few weeks. For this last newsletter of 2018 we had some fun with the Grinch – it's titled “What the Grinch Taught us about Business”

What the Grinch Taught us about Business

Up on his mountain … up on the top

The Grinch looked down on Whoville and he had a nasty …… dasterly thought

He saw the Who’s all gathered by a tree and singing in cheer

He smiled inside and snarled a grin as he decided …. that maybe Christmas wouldn’t come this year!  

The Grinch concocted his plan in his devious way

As he planned to steal Christmas …..Yes ……..he’d steal it away

He go down each chimney and scoop up the presents galore

All those gifts and boxes but he really wanted so …..so much more

Yes the Grinch had a plan to steal away all the Christmas cheer

He’d hadn’t thought it through but perhaps …he’d replace it with fear

For it was at Christmas that people decided to like each other a lot

So the Grinch set out ……… he set out on his evil plot…

But there was just one person who stood in his way

She was sweet and short -a mighty fighter of evil …..… was Lucy May

She didn’t know karate, she couldn’t combat him and run

She was so much smaller ……  …..she didn’t own a gun

Lucy May Who had a gift more powerful than might

A tool so strong …………..it was something even the Grinch couldn’t fight

It was a power so strong it must have been a gift from above

The secret to Lucy May Who …….was the power of love

Well the Grinch wrangled his fingers and buckled his toes

Concocting his devious plan to destroy all that he knows

Because yes this would be it ……this would be the year

That all that is Christmas would be replaced by misery and yes, a few tears

As he got in his sled to steal Christmas away

He dreamt about how miserable everyone would be ….on that joyous of joyous days

With gifts stolen all stolen and gone

What on earth could possibly go wrong?

He executed his plan with stealth and precision

Everything went as planned – after all ………he was on a mission

Everything was perfect – he’d stolen Christmas – the tree and the ring

But instead of being sad ……what was this …people in Whoville started to sing!!!

Now the Grinch was all grumpy and started to jump and to pout

And up on his sled Lucy May Who reminded the Grinch …..what Christmas was really about

It’s not packages and boxes wrapped up from Amazon and bricks and mortar stores

Yes Christmas really is loving your neighbors …..and love is so ……so much more

The Grinch puzzled his puzzler as only a Grinch can do

He looked a Lucy May, and then Whoville…. and it was then that he knew

Christmas is loving and wonder and cheer

It’s really too bad that Christmas only comes but once a year  

So whatever your faith or belief may be

Merry Christmas everyone and be careful……..don’t let the Grinch near your tree ??
